A converted missile silo in Kansas has been turned into a survival condo complex, stocked and sealed for buyers preparing for the end of the world, and this episode of Mystery Places tours its bunks, pool, and blast doors alongside the people who bought units. From there the film travels to a minefield still marked with skulls and warning signs on the hills above Sarajevo, decades after the Bosnian war ended. In Thailand it visits a village where residents keep venomous king cobras as a matter of local custom and livelihood, filming handlers who work barehanded with the snakes. The episode also drives out to the abandoned replica of the Pentagon built on the outskirts of Shanghai, its empty parking lots and unfinished wings left to decay, before closing at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
