Adolf Hitler's rise gets read backward through centuries of supposed warnings, starting with biblical texts in the Book of Esther and the Book of Daniel and running forward through Nostradamus's verses. The film's most concrete figure is Erik Jan Hanussen, the clairvoyant who advised Hitler directly and whose predictions the program lines up against actual events to argue for their accuracy. From there it traces the ideological scaffolding the Nazis built around themselves: Germanic and Aryan legend, occult societies, mysticism, and astrology, treating these as the soil the prophecies supposedly grew from rather than mere set dressing. The approach is straightforwardly credulous, presenting each prediction as evidence of a foretold evil rather than testing the claims against the historical record, so viewers get a tour of the prophecy tradition itself more than a rigorous account of Nazism's occult fascinations. It works best as a catalog of what people believed and claimed to foresee, not as an explanation of how the Third Reich actually came to power.
