Capitalism gets a hard look through the B Corp movement, with Jay Coen Gilbert, co-founder of B Lab, as the film's central guide. Gilbert helped build the certification system that pushes companies to weigh workers, communities, and the environment alongside shareholder profit, and the film follows that idea from boardrooms to factory floors, asking whether business built only to maximize returns is actually serving anyone well. Executives, employees, and advocates speak on camera about what changes when a company answers to more than its stock price, and the film weighs the costs of that shift against the costs of business as usual. Rather than treating profit and purpose as opposites, it tracks companies trying to hold both at once, and lets the friction between the two carry the argument. The result is less a manifesto than a case study in what a different definition of success might look like inside a real company.
