Oscar Pistorius built his career on being the fastest double amputee alive, running on carbon-fiber blades that earned him the nickname Blade Runner and a place in the London 2012 Olympics alongside his Paralympic gold medals. In the early hours of February 14th, his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp died from gunshot wounds in his Pretoria apartment. Police call it premeditated murder; Pistorius calls it a tragic accident, having mistaken her for an intruder. Presenter Rick Edwards, who covered Pistorius's 400m and relay races at the 2012 Games, returns to Pretoria to interview friends of both Steenkamp and Pistorius, tracing the gap between the athlete's public image and reports of bar fights and late-night confrontations that surfaced afterward. The film uses 3D graphics to reconstruct the apartment's layout and lays out the sworn testimony gathered so far, including the bail conditions a judge imposed: no alcohol, subject to random testing, until Pistorius returns to court in June. It sets the known evidence against both accounts without declaring which one is true.
