Path of Faith
The life of Christ, told through more than forty sites across the Holy Land that mark its milestones. The program moves from Nazareth, where it visits the traditional site of the Annunciation, to Bethlehem's Nativity church, then follows the route north to the Jordan River for the baptism and on to Cana, where the water-into-wine miracle is said to have occurred. At the Sea of Galilee it stops at Tabgha, the traditional location of the feeding of the five thousand, the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus is said to have delivered the Sermon on the Mount, and the ruined synagogue and houses of Capernaum, where several of his miracles are set. Each location is presented as both a physical ruin and a narrative marker, tracing Jesus's path from an obscure birth to a public ministry built around teaching and healing. The film treats the geography itself as evidence, letting the density of sites around the Galilee stand in for how concentrated that ministry was in a small stretch of land.
