Anders Hofman is not an elite athlete when he decides to attempt something no one has done before: a full Ironman distance, 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of cycling, and a full marathon, completed entirely alone and unassisted, with no support crew, no volunteers, and no aid stations. The film follows his training and the attempt itself, tracking the physical toll of carrying his own gear, navigating his own route, and pushing through exhaustion and injury with nobody there to hand him water or fix a mechanical problem. Interviews and behind-the-scenes footage show the planning behind the stunt, the sponsors and doubters around him, and the toll the obsession takes on his personal life. The film treats the challenge less as a stunt for cameras and more as a study of what happens when a person removes every safety net from an already brutal endurance test. It stays close to Hofman throughout, letting his exhaustion and doubt carry the story rather than triumphant narration.
