A loose network of Jewish punks, hip-hop artists, and street performers pushes back against the idea that Jewish identity looks or sounds one particular way. The film follows Yishai, frontman of the Orthodox punk band Moshiach Oi, alongside the Sukkos Mob, a performance group that stages holiday rituals as public spectacle, and the Cholent collective, Orthodox renegades who host underground gatherings blending prayer with rebellion. Y-Love, an African American Jewish rapper, talks about converting and building a hip-hop career inside a community that did not expect him. Kal Holczler, founder of Voices of Dignity, and yoga teacher Amy round out a cast that spans Hasidic neighborhoods, DIY music venues, and activist spaces. Director Jesse Zook Mann interviews each subject about what observance means when it comes wrapped in tattoos, guitar feedback, or a yoga mat instead of a synagogue pew. The film does not resolve the tension between tradition and reinvention; it just keeps introducing people who are living inside it, on their own terms, in real time.
