Reggie Yates spends time with young Black and Asian gay men and transgender people in Britain whose harshest opposition comes not from strangers but from their own families and communities. He meets young Muslims who describe being threatened with exorcism to "cure" their sexuality, and West African Christian parents who have cut off their own children rather than accept them. Yates sits with these families as they explain their reasoning, and with the young people living with the fallout, from secrecy at home to outright homelessness. He also asks a harder question: why gay men of colour are so rarely visible at events like Gay Pride, even though they already face isolation within their own ethnic and religious communities. The film moves between mosques, churches, family living rooms, and Pride gatherings, letting people on every side of the conflict speak for themselves. Yates keeps his reactions on camera, visibly unsettled at points, which keeps the focus on lived experience rather than statistics.
