Jewish settlement in the West Bank has expanded for four decades, and by the time this series films, roughly 300,000 settlers live there in outposts ranging from plywood shacks to full suburban developments, a spread that has stalled the two-state solution VICE correspondent Simon Ostrovsky travels from Tel Aviv into the remote outposts to meet the young Israelis living there, many describing the land as a religious inheritance rather than a political claim. Before heading out, Ostrovsky sits in on counter-terrorism training with a member of Israel's Special Forces, a scene that frames how seriously some settlers and the state treat the security risks of staying put. Across five episodes, the series moves between plywood squats on hilltops and established communities that look like any Israeli suburb, letting the range of outposts make the scale of the settlement project visible rather than explaining it in the abstract. It keeps its focus on the people occupying the land and the daily friction of that occupation, not on brokering the political argument around it.
