Robert F. Kennedy is shot in the kitchen pantry of the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel on June 5, 1968, minutes after declaring victory in the California primary. Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Palestinian immigrant, is arrested at the scene and later convicted, though his notebooks contain the repeated line "RFK MUST DIE" and he claims no memory of the shooting. Director Shane O'Sullivan lays out the physical evidence that has kept the case open for decades: witness accounts of a woman in a polka dot dress running from the hotel shouting that Kennedy had been shot, ceiling-tile bullet holes suggesting more shots were fired than Sirhan's gun could hold, and additional bullets recovered from the scene that were never logged into evidence. The film also traces reports of CIA personnel present at the hotel that night. Rather than offering a resolved alternative theory, it works through the original investigation's gaps and contradictions, leaving the official account and its critics both on the table.
