Albert is 102 years old and still plays jazz. Riva is decades younger, and the film follows the friendship that grows between them, built around music, conversation, and the gap in age that turns out not to matter much. The camera stays close and quiet, letting long stretches of piano and talk carry the film rather than narration or archival material. What emerges is less a biography of a jazz musician than a study of an unlikely bond, watching how two people from different generations find common ground in a shared love of sound and each other's company. There is no plot beyond the relationship itself: scenes of playing, listening, and sitting together stand in for the passage of time between them. The film trusts its two subjects to carry the whole thing, and their ease with each other on camera is the reason it works.
