Run Mama Run

Sarah Michelle Bowman Brown spends years training for the Olympics, only to have an injury derail her shot at the 2012 team. She starts rebuilding toward another run in 2015, and then finds herself facing a different kind of turning point: pregnancy. The film follows her as she works through the choice that many female athletes confront, whether to keep chasing a competitive comeback or step back to become a mother, and how she tries to do both at once. Rather than treating the two paths as opposites, the documentary tracks her training schedule, her setbacks, and her family life running in parallel, showing what it actually takes to stay competitive while pregnant and postpartum. It stays close to her own account of the decision, framing her story as one of persistence rather than a clean victory narrative.
