Vienna after dark, tracked through the people who work its night shift. The film opens at Mitra Milašević's Café 3M, where Serbs, Albanians, and Croats have danced together for decades and where students and neighbors pack the room past midnight. Andreas Nevrivy and his team appear on shift at the Vienna Central Cemetery, one of Europe's largest, fielding the question of whether "death is Viennese." Musician Bibiza, described as the enfant terrible of the city's subculture, leads a tour through its rougher edges, a contrast to the polished Eden Bar and the Hotel Orient covered elsewhere in the film. The night closes, as it always does in Vienna, at a sausage stand: LEO, the city's oldest family-run stall, where employee Leszek hands out Käsekrainer and pickled gherkins and tips on staying awake until sunrise. Shot on location across bars, morgues, and street stands, the film uses these ordinary night workers to build a portrait of the city that the daytime tourist routes never show.
