Host Conor Woodman lands in Mexico City to test how deep the city's scam economy runs, starting with the taxi kidnapping racket that begins the moment he steps into a cab from the airport. He travels to the pyramids of Teotihuacan, where vendors try to sell him supposedly 2,000-year-old artifacts, then turns his attention to the pickpockets working the crowded avenues downtown. A fixer named Tirantes leads him into Tepito, a neighborhood built around a shrine to death, and from there into contact with people who claim direct experience of kidnapping and extortion. The film moves like an undercover investigation rather than a travelogue, with hidden-camera sequences, street-level interviews, and Woodman's own encounters with drivers and hustlers standing in for expert testimony. It does not pretend to solve the city's crime problem, just to map how ordinary tourist routines, a taxi ride, a market stall, a souvenir purchase, become entry points for people who have killed and kidnapped to make a living.
