Peru unfolds through three people who work its landscape rather than simply admire it. In the Andes, Jaime Araoz Chacon paints murals that preserve indigenous communities' collective memory while acting as their spokesman, translating oral history into visual record. In Arequipa, home to all of Peru's active volcanoes, volcanologist José del Carpio walks through the seismic and volcanic monitoring network he runs for the Institute of Geophysics of Peru, tracking activity in a region where eruption risk is constant. In the Sacred Valley, mountaineer and adventurer Ario Ferri shows off the Skylodge, a set of transparent pods he built into a cliff face, drawing on Inca engineering and his own nights spent sleeping while hanging from rock walls. The film moves between these three lives without forcing a single thesis, using each one to show a different relationship with the same terrain: cultural memory, geological hazard, and adrenaline-driven invention, all rooted in the same mountains.
