The Sundarbans, a maze of mangrove forests straddling the Bay of Bengal on the border of India and Bangladesh, hides one of the world's most elusive big cats: the swamp tiger. Rarely photographed and feared locally as a man-eater, this population of Bengal tigers has adapted to a tidal world of salt water, dense root systems, and narrow channels that make tracking them almost impossible by conventional means. The film follows researchers and conservationists working to understand how these tigers hunt, swim between islands, and coexist with the villagers and honey collectors who share their territory. It looks at the tension between conservation efforts and the real danger local communities face, since attacks on humans are a documented and ongoing problem in the region.
