Thailand sells itself through glossy brochures and flashy advertisements as a tropical vacation dream, all white beaches, temples, and smiling hospitality. This film goes looking for what sits underneath that image: the environmental and social cost of a tourism industry that has grown faster than the country's ability to manage it. Coastlines built up with resorts, coral reefs under pressure from boat traffic and runoff, and communities reshaped around the demands of foreign visitors all come into view as the camera moves past the postcard shots. Interviews with locals and people working in the industry lay out what mass tourism has done to fishing villages, water supplies, and waste systems that were never designed for the numbers now arriving each year. The film treats Thailand's popularity as a real achievement and a real problem at once, showing how the same industry that funds livelihoods is also wearing down the landscape that draws people there in the first place. It ends without pretending the tension has a clean fix.
