The Beatles Anthology

EN · STATUS: [ STREAMING ]

Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr sit for new interviews, with John Lennon's voice folded in from archival tape, to tell the band's own version of its story. The series moves from Liverpool clubs and Hamburg residencies through the Cavern Club years, Brian Epstein's management, and the screaming crowds of Beatlemania, then into the studio experiments of Sgt. Pepper's, the Let It Be sessions, and the 1969 rooftop concert that turned out to be their last performance together. Rare footage covers rehearsals, home movies, and outtakes never broadcast before, cut alongside contemporary news clips that show how the outside world reacted at each stage. The three surviving members talk candidly about the songwriting partnerships, the business disputes with Apple Corps, and the breakup itself, without smoothing over the tension. Built to accompany the simultaneous release of new Anthology recordings and unreleased tracks, the series gives the band's own account of its arc from Liverpool teenagers to the most documented breakup in pop music.
