Cocoa plantations in Ghana and the Ivory Coast supply much of the world's chocolate, and this film follows the labor behind that supply chain. Children as young as seven, some as old as fifteen, are recruited with promises of paid work and instead end up cutting cocoa pods and hauling sacks under threat, unpaid and unable to leave. The film traces how that labor connects to shelves in Europe and North America, asking whether chocolate companies and consumers know, or want to know, where the beans come from. It stays close to the plantations themselves rather than boardrooms, showing the work children do and the conditions they do it in. The core question driving the film is blunt: does the world know about the dark side of chocolate, and if it does, why does the trade continue. There is no narrator softening the material, just the plantations, the children, and the industry that depends on them.
