The Ghostvillage Project

1039

The Ghostvillage Project is a unique and thought-provoking endeavor that showcases the talents of six esteemed street artists. Over the course of three days, Timid, Remi/Rough, System, Stormie Mills, Juice 126, and Derm were given the opportunity to paint in an abandoned 1970s village on the west coast of Scotland. The results are truly staggering.

The artists were given free rein to create on the large collaborative walls and in the hidden nooks and crannies of the site. The stark and remote location served as a perfect backdrop for their work, inspiring them to push their creative boundaries and realize long-held dreams.

The village’s history also played a significant role in the artists’ creations. The intent of the project was to “populate” the ghost village with the art and characters it deserved. The artists succeeded in doing so, bringing new life to the abandoned village through their bold and imaginative works.

One of the standout pieces is a large collaborative wall featuring the work of all six artists. The wall is a visual feast, with each artist’s style blending seamlessly with the next. The use of bright colors and bold lines creates a sense of energy and movement, drawing the viewer’s eye around the wall.

Another highlight of the project is the individual works created by each artist in the hidden nooks and crannies of the village. These works are more intimate and personal, giving viewers a glimpse into the artists’ unique perspectives and creative processes.

Overall, The Ghostvillage Project is a triumph of creativity and collaboration. The artists’ use of the village’s history and the remote location as inspiration has resulted in a thought-provoking and visually stunning display of street art.
