Reggie Yates spends a week embedded in four different worlds most viewers never see. In Ghana he lives on Agbogbloshie, one of the largest e-waste dumps on earth, working alongside the "burner boys" who strip cables for scrap metal in soil so contaminated it has been called the most toxic place on the planet. In Texas he is stripped, shackled, and processed into Bexar County Jail as an inmate, eating and sleeping alongside prisoners inside a system that locks up one in twenty adult Texans. A year later he returns to the other side of the bars, working as a guard at Guildford County Jail in North Carolina among inmates ranging from minor offenders to convicted killers. The compilation closes with Yates living inside one of Iraq's largest refugee camps. Across four episodes he trades narration for immersion, working the jobs and living the conditions himself rather than observing from a distance, and lets the people he meets carry each story.
