Henrik Andersson herds reindeer for the Gällivare forest Sami community in Swedish Lapland, and the film follows him across a single year as he tries to keep the old way of life going. The camera stays close to daily work: moving animals through forest terrain, the physical grind of the seasons, and the conversations Andersson has about what his community has already lost to logging, mining, and land disputes with the Swedish state. He talks plainly about the pressure on forest Sami herding specifically, a way of life distinct from the more visible mountain reindeer culture, and about whether it can survive another generation.
