Chris Schewe, known online as Shoenice22, built a YouTube following by eating and drinking whatever he can find: sticks of deodorant, tampons, full bottles of grain alcohol. Vice sits him down to ask why, and he traces the habit back to childhood, when he ate a pack of cigarettes on a dare. Two years into the stunts by the time of filming, he talks through what keeps him doing them on camera: the audience, the attention, the escalation each new video demands to top the last one. The film stays close to Schewe's own account rather than bringing in outside experts, letting him explain the appeal and the toll in his own words while the footage of his actual stunts does the rest of the work. It is less an expose than a portrait of one man's particular route to internet fame, and what he is willing to swallow to keep it.
