In Shibuya, a family occupies a three-story house just three meters wide, squeezed between a parking lot and a building, totaling 89 square meters. A young woman explains how her family's 60-square-meter home pushes some daily routines, like reading, out into the neighborhood, a habit that also explains the popularity of Tokyo's manga cafés. Architect Manabu Maya walks through one of the city's smallest houses, a 16-square-meter structure, showing how compact framing and vertical layouts make it livable rather than cramped. The film moves between these homes and street-level views of the surrounding megacity, letting residents describe their own tradeoffs rather than narrating judgment onto them.
