In 1992, neo-Nazis firebombed a house in Mölln, northern Germany, killing three members of one family. The film follows İbrahim Arslan, who was seven at the time and lost his sister, cousin, and grandmother in the fire, as he returns to the town decades later to confront what happened. Thousands of letters of solidarity arrived after the attack and were archived, then forgotten for almost thirty years; İbrahim tracks down three of the people who wrote them and reads their words alongside his own memories. His brother Namik appears too, still working through trauma he has barely begun to address. The film moves between present-day interviews, archival news footage from 1992, and the physical letters themselves, building a picture of a family shaped by an act of violence and by a public response they never knew existed. It argues for a form of remembrance built around survivors' own voices rather than official commemoration, and lets İbrahim's search for the letter-writers carry that argument.
