Prescription pills and party drugs tear through a group of young people in Orange County, and this film follows the aftermath through the people who survived it and the parents left cleaning up. Aaron was a star athlete headed for a scholarship until a single overdose left him a quadriplegic, unable to move or speak but fully conscious of everything happening around him. Asia, a cheerleader, tried ecstasy once and woke up from a coma having to relearn walking and talking from scratch. Two more women appear alongside them: one an academic high achiever undone by curiosity and no real drug education, the other a path that runs from weed and pills to heroin and a total loss of control. Producers Jodi Barber and Christine Brant, working with Ashley Media, build the film out of interviews with the survivors and their families rather than reenactment or narration-heavy framing, letting the physical evidence of what happened to Aaron and Asia carry the argument. It screened at the Newport Beach Film Festival before wider release.
