Every element on the periodic table gets its own short film, made by the University of Nottingham's School of Chemistry and video journalist Brady Haran. The chemists behind the camera treat the table as a checklist: 118 elements, each one demonstrated rather than just described. Hydrogen gets a recurring bit where they fill balloons with the gas and set them alight, updating the footage over the years with bigger balloons to get a clearer look at the fireball itself. Other episodes show elements reacting, burning, dissolving, or exploding in the lab, with the professors explaining what's happening as it happens rather than narrating over stock visuals. The series has no arc beyond the table itself, so episodes work as standalone lessons on a single element or as a slow accumulation of the whole periodic system. It's chemistry taught the way a lab actually looks: safety goggles, fume hoods, and the occasional visibly nervous cameraman standing a bit too close to a reaction.
