Ashrita Furman holds more Guinness World Records than anyone alive, and the film follows him chasing more of them: the largest hula hoop, the longest distance cycling underwater, and a climb up Machu Picchu on stilts. By day he runs a Queens health food store; the rest of his time goes to meditation and to a running list of physical stunts that range from absurd to genuinely grueling. His dog Champ tags along on some attempts, and a loose community of fellow record chasers shows up to help time, measure, and witness each try, since Guinness rules require documentation and independent verification. The camera stays with Furman through the failed attempts as much as the successful ones, watching him recalibrate a hula hoop rig or adjust his stride on stilts at altitude. What emerges is less a highlight reel than a portrait of a specific, repetitive discipline: the same meditation practice that anchors his mornings also seems to be what lets him keep failing at a record attempt without quitting on it.
