British basketball has never cracked the mainstream the way football, rugby, and cricket have, and this film asks why, and whether that can change. It looks at the state of the sport across the country: the funding shortfalls, the lack of media coverage, and the uphill fight for professional leagues to survive against better-established rivals for sponsorship and public attention. Coaches, players, and administrators speak about grassroots programs trying to build a talent pipeline from school courts upward, and about the gap between that grassroots enthusiasm and the sport's near-invisibility on television. The film treats British basketball's growth as a case study in what it takes for a minority sport to gain legitimacy in a crowded national sporting culture already dominated by a handful of giants. It is a modest, straightforward look at an underdog game, told through the people trying to push it forward rather than through outside commentary.
