Thorsten and Axel, together for years and running businesses side by side, recount becoming the first gay prince couple at carnival celebrations in Mönchengladbach in 2019, and talk about love as reliability rather than fireworks. Interviews with the couples are intercut with commentary on how courtship and partnership have shifted across generations, from arrangements decades ago to app-driven dating now. The film does not argue for one model of love over another; it lets very different relationships, monogamous, polyamorous, gay, straight, sit next to each other and describe what commitment feels like from the inside.
