Frank Catalfumo has repaired shoes in the same Brooklyn storefront since 1945. At 91, he still opens five days a week, hunched over a workbench crowded with lasts, awls, and decades of leather dust. The camera stays close on his hands as he resoles a boot, watching a craft that has barely changed while the neighborhood around him has turned over generation after generation. Interviews with Catalfumo carry the film, his voice unhurried as he talks about the customers he has kept for decades, the trade he learned as a young man, and why retirement has never seriously come up.
