More than a century after the RMS Titanic went down in the North Atlantic, the wreck and the decisions that led to it still draw scrutiny. This film reconstructs the ship's final hours, from the collision with the iceberg late on April 14, 1912 to the last lifeboats pulling away before dawn, using archival photographs, ship diagrams, and expert commentary to walk through what happened on deck and belowdecks. It looks at the design choices and safety shortcomings that turned a collision into a catastrophe, including the shortage of lifeboats and the wireless warnings that went unheeded, and considers the class divide that shaped who survived. More than 1,500 people died in the sinking, and the film treats the number not as an abstraction but as a starting point for asking how a ship built to be unsinkable failed so completely, and so fast, once it struck ice.
