The South Tower

EN · STATUS: [ STREAMING ]

Survivors of the South Tower of the World Trade Center describe the minutes after the second plane hit, when many office workers believed the building next door had been the only target and stayed at their desks. The film follows their accounts of the decision to evacuate anyway, the crowded stairwells, and the chaos on the ground once they reached the plaza. Paramedics who responded that morning describe treating a sudden wave of severely burned and injured people with equipment and staffing meant for ordinary emergencies, not a mass-casualty event unfolding in real time. Interviews carry the narrative, moving between individual escape stories and the medical response outside, building a picture of September 11 from street level rather than from the broader political or military story. The film stays close to personal testimony throughout, focused on what it took to get out of the tower and what it took to keep the wounded alive once they did.
