Modern warfare is being rewritten by machines that never put a human pilot in the cockpit, and this episode of Spark's military technology series goes looking for the hardware doing it. Engineers and defense officials walk through a new drone system that builds a live 3D view of a battlefield for commanders watching from far away, then turn to unmanned stealth submarines designed to slip past sonar undetected. Heat-seeking drones get a close look too, tracked through demonstrations of how they lock onto a target's thermal signature rather than a visual one. The film mixes test-range footage, cockpit and control-room views, and interviews with the people building these systems to lay out what they can already do and where the programs are headed next. Rather than dwelling on ethics, it stays close to the engineering: sensors, guidance, and the tactical edge each device is meant to provide. The result is a survey of where unmanned warfare stands right now, told through the machines themselves.
