Northeast India's border region with Myanmar has been off-limits to outsiders for decades, and this film follows a rare crew into the mountains and forests where the Zeliangrong tribes live. The focus falls on the Zeme people and the Heraka movement, a spiritual revival built on the legacy of a charismatic leader that has helped the community hold onto its identity as roads, schools, and modern life push into the region. Cameras follow villagers through weddings and festivals, capturing the dances, songs, and ceremonies that carry the group's beliefs from one generation to the next. Interviews with tribal elders and participants fill in the history, including the region's past reputation for headhunting, now decades gone but still part of how outsiders imagine the area. The film moves between ritual scenes and quieter observational footage of daily village life, building a picture of a culture that has adapted without disappearing. It is a portrait of resilience shaped by geography as much as by faith.
