Jacque Fresco spent decades designing an alternative to money-based economics, and this film follows him and his partner Roxanne Meadows at their compound in Venus, Florida, where scale models of circular cities, automated farms, and domed housing sit alongside blueprints few outside their organization have ever built. Fresco argues that scarcity is manufactured, that machines could handle most labor, and that a resource-based economy could replace markets, wages, and even national borders. The camera moves through his workshop and lecture halls as he sketches the reasoning behind each design choice, from traffic-free city layouts to shared ownership of goods. Interviews with Fresco and Meadows carry most of the film, tracing how a self-taught engineer and industrial designer arrived at a plan he calls both practical and radical. It ends without resolution on whether the world Fresco draws on paper could survive contact with the one that exists now.
