The World's Future Megaprojects
What will the built world look like in three decades? This film travels to eight massive infrastructure and engineering projects now underway or planned, using footage of construction sites, engineering renderings, and interviews with the planners and builders behind them to lay out what each one is meant to solve, whether it's transportation bottlenecks, energy shortages, or housing for growing cities. The camera moves between drawing boards and active work sites, showing cranes, tunnels, and half-finished structures alongside the blueprints that guide them. Engineers and project leads explain the scale of the ambition involved, the technical obstacles still unresolved, and the timelines that stretch years or decades into the future. Rather than treating these projects as finished marvels, the film frames them as bets on how humanity will live, move, and power itself by mid-century, tracking the reasoning behind each design choice as much as the concrete and steel itself.
