Two activists pose as representatives of the World Trade Organization and accept invitations to speak at business conferences, delivering absurd proposals dressed up in the flat language of trade policy. One pitch argues for recycling human waste into hamburger meat to feed the poor; another unveils a gold lame suit rigged with a giant inflatable phallus meant to monitor workers, presented dead seriously to an audience that mostly nods along. The film follows the pair from stunt to stunt, catching the moment audiences realize, or fail to realize, that they are being tested. Each hoax works the same way: give corporate and government logic enough rope and see if anyone in the room objects before it hangs itself. The camera stays close on faces in the crowd, which is where the film finds its real evidence about what passes for normal in these rooms.
