The second segment follows an underground clinic treating heroin addiction with ibogaine, a psychoactive plant compound banned in the United States but used elsewhere as an unconventional detox method. Cameras follow patients through the drug's intense, hallucinogenic withdrawal process and talk to the clinicians administering it outside any formal medical system, weighing its risks against the failures of conventional rehab. Both segments favor direct observation over narration, letting smokers, addicts, and practitioners explain their own reasoning on camera.
