Marieke De Lange sets out to give underprivileged children a voice through theater, organizing them to write and perform their own stage dramatizations of the hardships they live with. The film follows her project as it moves from idea to rehearsal to performance, showing the children rehearsing lines, building sets, and finally taking the stage in front of an audience. Interviews with De Lange and the young performers trace how the process changes their sense of themselves, turning private struggles into shared, public stories. The camera stays close to the rehearsal room and the informal settings where these communities live, letting the gap between the children's circumstances and their ambition on stage speak for itself. Rather than treating the project as a simple feel-good exercise, the film follows setbacks alongside progress, giving a grounded picture of what it actually takes to build something like this from nothing. It ends with the performance itself, the payoff for months of work by kids who rarely get to tell their own story.
