Ade Adepitan travels to the Republic of Congo to document the Baka, a hunter-gatherer tribe whose forest is being converted into a national park, cutting them off from the land they depend on for food and identity. Krishnan Guru-Murthy reports from Mali, where armed conflict has gutted Timbuktu's tourism economy and left its centuries-old manuscripts and mud-brick shrines without the funds or security to survive. Each segment runs under half an hour and combines on-camera interviews, observational footage, and reporter narration typical of the series' current-affairs format. Together the three pieces cover roughly seventy minutes and move from a courtroom problem to an environmental displacement to a heritage crisis, each grounded in specific people and places rather than broad statistics.
