Two Unreported World reports paired together. Reporter Seyi Rhodes and director Jessica Kelly travel to Senegal, where traditional wrestling, laamb, has grown into a national obsession that offers young men a rare route out of poverty. The film meets superstar fighters treated like celebrities in their neighborhoods and younger wrestlers pushing their bodies toward injury for a shot at the prize money that supports their families. In the second half, Ade Adepitan travels to Kenya ahead of a World Anti-Doping Agency deadline, meeting athletes, coaches, and officials caught up in allegations of systemic doping and corruption inside Kenyan athletics, once one of the most dominant distance-running programs on earth. Both segments rely on on-the-ground interviews and observational footage rather than narration-heavy explainers, following the reporters as they push past official denials to talk to the athletes actually affected. Together the two stories look at what sport promises poor countries, and what it costs when that promise is exploited or corrupted.
