Vespas to Africa

1129

This hour long adventure documentary follows the world’s largest amateur rally, the Budapest-Bamako. Teams lusting for adventure set out from the Hungarian capital to reach West Africa. Three Norwegian adventurers attempt to complete the 9000 kilometer ride on their 20 year old Vespas. Follow them and race founder Andrew G. Szabo as they bump along teeth-rattling roads in Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal and Guinea Bissau. By skillfully blending the drama and comedy of a wacky road rally with stunning images of Saharan and sub-Saharan life this program makes great travel content as well as reality-based adventure programming.
