Childhood obesity rates have climbed to alarming levels across wildly different countries, from Brazil to Kuwait, and this film sets out to ask why. It interviews families, children, doctors, and researchers in multiple countries, letting them describe what an overweight childhood actually looks like day to day: the diets, the marketing aimed at kids, the school lunches, the sedentary hours. The film keeps circling one question without settling it easily: who is responsible for a child's weight, the food industry that markets to kids, the parents who buy what's put in front of them, or the governments that regulate almost none of it? Rather than picking a single villain, it lays out how the food industry, advertising, family habits, and public policy all feed into the same outcome, and lets specialists from different countries weigh in on where the real leverage points are. The comparison across countries as different as Brazil and Kuwait is the film's clearest evidence that this is not a local problem but a global one.
