Three young German women describe standing at the edge of death and coming back changed. Chanel Silberberg, who became known through the reality show "Germany's Next Topmodel," nearly died at age 11 from complications of a chronic illness and says the experience erased a lifelong fear of death. Competitive athlete Laethisia Schimek and dance therapist Léa Winzenried recount their own near-death experiences and the altered sense of time, self, and mortality that followed. The film moves between interviews with the three women, who reflect on how the experience reshaped their careers, relationships, and daily choices. Rather than building a single case about what happens after death, it stays close to first-person testimony, letting the women describe sensations, decisions, and the aftermath in their own words. DW's producers use these accounts to ask a broader question about why brushes with death leave such a durable mark on how people choose to live, without resolving it into a tidy answer.
