Nigeria carries the label of Africa's most populous country, with over 150 million people split between the continent's largest Muslim population in the north and a largely Christian south. Journalist Ayo Johnson travels the country asking why that divide has turned violent, focusing on Boko Haram and what the group actually wants, who it recruits, and how far its reach extends beyond the northeast. He puts the question of government response front and center too: what officials in Abuja have tried, what has failed, and what more could realistically reduce tension between communities that have coexisted for generations but now eye each other with suspicion. The film stays close to Johnson's own inquiry rather than offering a finished verdict, treating the roots of the violence as unresolved and the fault lines between religion, poverty, and politics as tangled together rather than separable. It is a reporter's investigation into a still-unfolding conflict, not a history lesson delivered after the fact.
