Bob Wells, who runs the website Cheap RV Living, speaks for a community that treats a parked vehicle as a legitimate address rather than a stopgap. Randy Vining, Josh and Meisha Manwaring, Steven Ballee, and Laurie Theodorou each describe why they gave up a fixed roof, what they gained in mobility and savings, and what they lost in stability and standing with people who assume a life on wheels means a life in crisis. The film lines up its subjects along a single continuum: at one end, people one paycheck from the street living in a van; at the other, retirees in motorhomes worth more than most houses. Both groups sleep in metal boxes instead of wooden ones, and both get called homeless by people who never ask how they actually live. Interviews carry the film throughout, with no narrator standing between the subjects and the camera, and the argument is simply that the difference between vagrancy and freedom is mostly a matter of who is judging.
