World's Biggest Cargo Planes: Flying the Impossible
Some cargo refuses to fit inside a normal plane, and this film follows the aircraft built around that problem. The Airbus Beluga carries other aircraft's fuselage sections, its bulbous upper deck designed purely to swallow oversized parts. The A400M handles military vehicles onto rough or unprepared runways. Largest of all, the Antonov An-124 and the one-off An-225 lift industrial equipment, generators, and even live animals that no standard freighter could take. The film follows loadmasters, engineers, and pilots through the logistics of getting these loads aboard: the custom ramps, the weight calculations, the cargo holds reconfigured for a single irregular shipment. Interviews with crew explain what changes when a plane's entire design exists to serve one category of impossible cargo, from balancing a lopsided load to landing heavy aircraft on strips never meant for them. It is a tour of the hardware end of air freight, where the engineering solution is usually just building something bigger.
