Tanzania's roads run through some of the most dramatic landscapes on the planet, and this episode follows the trucks, buses and off-road vehicles that use them. The route runs from the Indian Ocean coast, through the Serengeti, to Lake Victoria, crossing paths with wildebeest herds on migration, lions, and rhinos along the way. Rather than treating the wildlife as scenery, the film pays equal attention to the drivers and passengers who depend on these routes daily, and to the communities living along them, showing how a washed-out track or a herd blocking the road becomes a real logistical problem rather than a postcard moment. Camera crews ride along in the vehicles, capturing dust, mud, and the physical strain of navigating unpaved terrain across long distances. Part of the long-running Free Documentary series on hazardous roads worldwide, this episode trades mountain switchbacks for open savanna, making the danger less about cliffs and more about distance, wildlife, and unpredictable terrain.
