Deep in the Amazon rainforest of northern Brazil, two young Kayapo men, Beptoy and Baka, both 20, face the ritual that will mark their passage into manhood. Their elders send them after the Amyu, a wasp the Kayapo call the killer wasp, whose nest they must attack and endure without breaking. The film follows the two through the forest as they track the nest, prepare their bodies and minds for the pain to come, and finally carry out the sting ritual in front of the community that will judge whether they have become warriors. Footage captures village life, the elders' instructions, and the physical toll of the ritual itself, framing it against a broader Kayapo belief that manhood has to be earned through suffering rather than simply reached with age. The wasp attack is the film's centerpiece, shown in unflinching detail, and it works as both ethnographic record and a study of what a culture decides counts as courage.
